Telstar Masters the Art of Mixed Technologies!
There are challenging printing processes that simply require a new kind of press designed specifically for the customer's application. We provided such a solution for a client whose job requires combining the need to apply chemistry with rotary screen while registering it to an ink-jet system. The result was achieved with an entirely new custom press designed, engineered, manufactured and installed by Telstar Engineering.
This unique press prints rotary screen chemistry onto a special web. The press handles webs to 26” wide at speeds to 350 FPM. The web could not be nipped conventionally so servo-driven vacuum infeed and outfeed nips created a closed-loop tension zone.
When webs with sensitive coatings cannot be transported with a conventional nip-roller we employ our Vacuum Nip-Roller.
The Rotary Screen unit is driven by a Telstar Servo package performing registration to an ink-jet printed register mark that was printed in-line and later used to index a sheeter. The press is completely modular allowing future process expansion already planned.
Putting It All Together …
This is just one of the many single and multi-purpose presses Telstar has engineered and manufactured over its 22+ year history as Press Performance Specialists. We draw from our wide range of press retrofit systems we have added to upgrade new and veteran presses of virtually every major press brand operating in shops today. Often these unique units are combined in new ways to solve the most difficult printing demands: Hot Stamping and Cold Foil, Rotary Screen, Rotary Die, Flexo, and Laminating.
We pioneered the installation of Cast & Cure functionality on existing press equipment and took the lead in adding Digital Printing Capability for printers not ready to commit large investments in that new technology. We lead the field in providing Plowfold units for the precise production of complex booklet-type labels now in demand due to extensive product information requirements. And, we are the best source in the industry for Pattern Hot Melt and Slot Die equipment.
Telstar's "Servo Genius" package can convert a print and/or die station on your veteran press to allow for finishing digitally printed webs.
Don't wait for your competition to make the first move. Mix things up on your press and move into the future with Telstar High Performance Technology.
